Rajasthan govt registers 163 FIRs, arrests 569 in paper leak cases

Jaipur, July 23 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Rajasthan government has intensified its crackdown on examination paper leak rackets, with 163 FIRs registered and 569 accused arrested so far, according to officials. In the high‑profile Sub‑Inspector (SI) recruitment examination irregularities case, 150 people, including 71 Sub‑Inspectors and other accused, have been arrested as part of the ongoing investigation. Officials described the action as part of the state’s drive to restore transparency and integrity in the recruitment process.

The Government, led by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, says it has adopted a zero‑tolerance policy against examination paper leaks and recruitment fraud, claiming that strict action over the past two and a half years has restored the confidence of lakhs of job aspirants.

According to official figures, the state has conducted 383 recruitment examinations during this period with enhanced transparency and a strengthened verification system. Authorities say these measures have significantly improved the credibility of the recruitment process.

The crackdown comes after allegations of widespread irregularities under the previous Congress Government, during whose tenure question papers for 17 recruitment examinations were reportedly leaked, affecting lakhs of candidates and undermining trust in the system. To dismantle the alleged paper leak network, the Government has registered 163 FIRs and arrested 569 accused so far. In the SI recruitment examination case, 150 people have been arrested, including 71 Sub‑Inspectors and other accused allegedly linked to the irregularities.

The investigation has also reached senior officials. Former Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) members Babulal Katara and Ramuram Raika have been arrested as part of the probe. The Government has also initiated strict departmental action against those who allegedly secured jobs through fraudulent means. Services of 188 government employees have been terminated, while the appointment orders of 135 Physical Education Teachers have been cancelled. Investigations are currently underway against 454 government employees suspected of involvement in recruitment irregularities.

Authorities have also taken action in cases involving OMR sheet manipulation, dummy candidates and the use of forged documents, with several accused sent to jail.

On the employment front, the Government says it has provided more than 1.78 lakh appointments in the last two and a half years. Recruitment for around one lakh additional posts is currently underway, while a recruitment calendar for 1.25 lakh new vacancies has also been released. Officials maintain that the continued crackdown on the paper leak mafia and reforms in the recruitment system have strengthened transparency and restored confidence among Rajasthan’s youth seeking government employment.
