Congress indulging in misinformation politics while exploiting NEET issue, says Punjab BJP

Chandigarh, July 22 (SocialNews.XYZ) As part of nationwide agitation against the Congress, Punjab BJP President Kewal Singh Dhillon on Wednesday led a protest in front of the Punjab Congress headquarters here, accusing the Congress of indulging in “politics of anarchy, hypocrisy and misinformation” while exploiting the NEET issue for narrow political gains.

Hundreds of BJP workers joined the demonstration and attempted to march towards the Congress office before Chandigarh Police stopped them with heavy barricading.

Dhillon, along with several senior BJP leaders and hundreds of party workers, was taken into preventive custody and later released from the police station in Sector 11.

Addressing the media before his detention, Dhillon said the Congress has once again exposed its anti-democratic mindset by choosing agitation over accountability after repeated electoral defeats. He said the party was shamelessly using students as political pawns to revive its shrinking political relevance.

Referring to the NEET issue, Dhillon said Prime Minister Narendra Modi acted decisively from day one by ordering a CBI investigation and ensuring that those responsible were brought to justice. He said 13 accused have already been arrested and the government has made it clear that there will be zero tolerance for anyone attempting to play with the future of India’s youth.

Launching a sharp attack on Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, Dhillon alleged that after returning from foreign vacations, the Congress leader had once again resorted to political theatrics in the name of students instead of standing with them. “The Congress is not interested in justice for students; it is only interested in manufacturing political controversies,” he said.

Dhillon also accused the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party of acting in collusion. He questioned the complete silence of both parties over the alleged pharmacy examination cheating scam in Faridkot while they continue to politicise the NEET issue. “Why are Congress and AAP silent when examination scams take place in Punjab?” he asked.

Drawing a comparison with the Congress-led UPA regime, Dhillon said multiple major examination paper leaks occurred between 2004 and 2014 without any meaningful investigation, whereas the Modi government ensured swift action, a transparent probe and arrests in the NEET case.

Reiterating the BJP’s resolve, Dhillon said barricades, arrests and police action cannot intimidate BJP workers or suppress the truth. He said the BJP will continue exposing the Congress’s “double standards and anti-student politics” across the country while remaining firmly committed to protecting democratic institutions and safeguarding the future of India's youth.
