Kolkata, July 21 (SocialNews.XYZ) In a horrific crime in West Bengal, a father and son were hacked to death at New Town area on the northern outskirts of Kolkata on Tuesday. The mother meanwhile was admitted to a hospital in a critical condition after the brutal attack.
Initial investigation suggested that the double murder was committed with a sharp weapon due to a land dispute with the family.
Officers of Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate have detained a few people in the incident and started an investigation.
According to the police, the deceased father has been identified as Muzaffar Mistry alias Mona. He was aged 55. His son was identified as Bapi Mistry. He was 26. It is learnt that there was a long-standing dispute in the Mistry family over a plot of land in Patharghata in New Town. The other side started construction on that land and Muzaffar Mistry and his family had opposed it.
According to the police, earlier in the day some people from the other side attacked Muzaffar Mistry with sharp weapons. It is alleged that they were beaten up indiscriminately. Muzaffar Mistry, his son and wife were left profusely bleeding and collapsed after the brutal attack.
They were taken to the Bidhannagar Sub-district Hospital where the doctors declared the father and son dead.
The woman's condition is critical and she is undergoing treatment there.
After receiving the news of the incident, the officers of Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate went to the spot. High-ranking officials also reached there. Some people have been detained and they are being questioned.
