Ram Temple theft accused Lavkush Mishra's wife seeks extension from ADA for 'illegal' house, gets 7 days

Ayodhya, July 15 (SocialNews.XYZ) Supriya Mishra, wife of Ram temple donation embezzlement case accused Lavkush Mishra, on Wednesday sought a one-month extension from the Ayodhya Development Authority (ADA) to submit documents related to their under-construction house.

However, the authority granted her only seven days and directed her to furnish all the required records within the stipulated period.

The development comes a day after the Ayodhya Development Authority issued a final notice to Supriya Mishra regarding the alleged unauthorised construction of a house in the temple town. The notice warned that the property could be sealed if the necessary documents were not submitted by Wednesday.

On Wednesday, Supriya Mishra visited the ADA office along with her daughter and father, where she submitted a formal representation stating that documentation related to the under-construction house in the Sahadatganj area was still incomplete.

During her visit, she requested the authority to grant one month's time to complete and submit all the necessary documents. The Ayodhya Development Authority, however, allowed only a seven-day extension and instructed her to submit all valid documents and records relating to the property within that period.

Supriya Mishra declined to respond to questions from IANS while leaving the authority's office.

According to officials of the Ayodhya Development Authority, the final notice had been pasted on the under-construction two-storey building located at Banvirpur in the Sahadatganj area after no response was received to an earlier notice issued on July 3.

Officials said the plot on which the house is being constructed is registered in the name of Supriya Mishra, wife of Lavkush Mishra, who is currently lodged in jail in connection with the case of embezzlement of donations collected at the Ram Temple.

ADA Secretary Rakesh Kumar Mishra said the authority had summoned Supriya Mishra, a resident of Gata No. 16G, Mauja-Vanveerpur, district Ayodhya, and that further action would be taken in accordance with the law depending on the response and the documents submitted.

The alleged irregularities of Ram Temple donations first came to light on June 7, following which an investigation was launched.

According to investigators, Lavkush Mishra was among the eight people associated with the temple's donation-counting process who were arrested on June 26 after an FIR was registered on June 25 on the basis of a preliminary report submitted by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted by the Uttar Pradesh government.

The arrested accused included Anukalp Mishra, Lavkush Mishra, Ram Shankar Yadav, Manish Yadav, Subhash Srivastava, Avinash Shukla, Rama Shankar Mishra and Karunesh Pandey. Following their arrest, police claimed to have recovered Rs 79,85,493 from seven of the eight accused.

According to the investigators, Rs 14.25 lakh was recovered from Lavkush Mishra during the course of the investigation.

The highest cash recovery in the case, amounting to Rs 20.39 lakh, was allegedly made from co-accused Avinash Shukla, who was associated with counting donations at the temple.

Investigators also seized a donation box labelled 'Ramrajya Kosh', along with foreign currency, gold and silver, during searches conducted in connection with the case.
