Patna, July 14 (SocialNews.XYZ) BJP leader Abhishek Kumar Sinha 'Bunty', who withdrew his candidature for the Bankipur by-poll in Bihar, said on Tuesday that he was a dedicated party worker and will continue to protect this bond all his life.
Sinha withdrew his candidature on Friday, just days after filing his nomination papers, purportedly "to protect the honour of his parents" who had been named in the infamous 1990s fodder scam of Bihar.
Speaking exclusively to IANS after pulling out of the high-octane contest, Sinha said he is a booth-level BJP worker and will continue to serve the party in that capacity.
He said he fully supports the decision taken by the party's top leadership and will work wholeheartedly to ensure Neeraj Sinha's victory.
He said he will work tirelessly for the victory of NDA candidate Neeraj Sinha and will reach out to voters everywhere, urging them to ensure his win by a massive margin. As a BJP worker, he said he will continue to carry out the tasks assigned by the party, because he is a worker at heart and will continue to work with that spirit.
He also met with BJP national president Nitin Nabin and hinted that there was no heartburn over withdrawing from the electoral race.
Sinha told IANS that the meeting took place and Nabin told him that he has always worked hard and must continue to do so, and there are no issues whatsoever.
He said having served as a booth-level worker for 26 consecutive years, he was entrusted with a significant responsibility by the party, and he will always live up to the trust the party has placed in him.
He further stated that he would remain loyal to the party and continue to serve the public while fulfilling every organisational responsibility.
Addressing the old controversy involving his father, Sinha clarified that he was very young at the time, only 12 years old. He said he has been serving the party for 26 years now, and whatever responsibility the party entrusts to him, he will fulfil it with complete dedication and continue working among the people.
Abhishek Sinha alias Bunty was picked as the candidate for the Bankipur Assembly by-election; however, he announced withdrawing from it, citing family reasons. Subsequently, the party named Neeraj Sinha as its candidate.
Prashant Kishor, the founder of Jan Suraaj, has also filed his nomination for this seat, while Rekha Gupta is the RJD's candidate.
Voting for the Bankipur Assembly by-election is scheduled for July 30, with the results to be announced on August 3.
