Rajasthan High Court receives fresh bomb threat, security stepped up in Jaipur, Jodhpur

Jaipur, July 13 (SocialNews.XYZ) Panic gripped the judicial and security establishments in Rajasthan on Monday after the Jaipur and Jodhpur benches of the Rajasthan High Court received fresh bomb threats via email, prompting an immediate security response and heightened vigilance across both court complexes.

As a precaution, access to the court premises was restricted while security personnel conducted exhaustive searches. No explosive material had been found at the time of reporting, but authorities said the threat was being treated with utmost seriousness.

The latest incident is not an isolated one. According to officials, the Rajasthan High Court has received more than 12 bomb threat emails since late 2025. Although every threat has so far turned out to be a hoax, each one has disrupted court proceedings, delayed hearings and triggered large-scale security operations.

The repeated incidents have raised difficult questions for investigators: Who is sending these emails, and why have they remained beyond the reach of law enforcement despite repeated investigations?

Monday's threat was reportedly addressed to both the Jaipur and Jodhpur benches. After receiving the email from an unidentified account, the High Court administration alerted the police and intelligence agencies.

Security personnel immediately evacuated and sanitised sensitive areas of the complexes.

Bomb disposal teams and sniffer dogs searched courtrooms, offices and public spaces while cyber investigators began examining the email's digital trail.

Officials have not disclosed details of the ongoing investigation. Cybersecurity experts say tracing anonymous threat emails is often far more complex than tracking conventional crimes.

Investigators typically begin by examining email headers, IP addresses and server logs. However, if senders route communications through multiple networks, use privacy-focused services or rely on overseas infrastructure, identifying their true location can become significantly more difficult, said officials.

Cross-border investigations also depend on cooperation from foreign service providers and legal processes that can take time, particularly when servers are located outside India, they added.

Officials have not publicly confirmed the methods used in the latest case. Each bomb threat carries consequences even when no explosives are found. Court proceedings are suspended, hearings are postponed and litigants, many of whom travel long distances from rural Rajasthan, often return home without their cases being heard.

Lawyers, court staff and judges also face repeated disruptions as security agencies conduct mandatory evacuation and search operations. Legal practitioners say the recurring threats consume valuable public resources while affecting access to justice for thousands of people. Security agencies are examining whether the repeated threats are intended solely to spread fear or to test the preparedness of law enforcement.

Experts note that repeated hoax threats can strain police resources, disrupt essential public institutions and create uncertainty, even if no actual attack takes place. Investigators are therefore analysing whether the emails are connected or originate from the same source.

No official conclusion has yet been announced. The recurring threats have renewed calls for strengthening both cyber investigations and physical security at court complexes.

Members of the legal fraternity have urged authorities to enhance surveillance systems, improve access control at entry points and invest in advanced forensic capabilities to identify anonymous online offenders more quickly.

While every threat so far has proved to be false, the repeated targeting of one of Rajasthan's most important judicial institutions underscores the growing challenge posed by anonymous digital threats. Until investigators identify those responsible, every new email is likely to trigger the same costly cycle of evacuation, searches and disruption.
