Inspired by Guy Ritchie’s 2019 feature film of the same name, The Gentlemen series debuted in 2024 and quickly attracted audiences with its sharp dialogue, dark humour, stylish action, and unpredictable characters. The story follows Eddie Halstead, played by Theo James, who unexpectedly inherits a massive estate from his father and discovers that the property is secretly connected to a powerful drug empire operated by the Pearson family.
Unlike traditional crime protagonists, Eddie is not a seasoned gangster. Instead, he is forced into a world he never expected to enter and must rely on intelligence, strategy, and his own unconventional methods to survive. After initially trying to escape the criminal operation, Eddie eventually finds himself becoming a key player in the business, leading to a partnership with Susie Glass, played by Kaya Scodelario.
Season 2 picks up one year after Eddie and Susie joined forces to manage and expand Bobby’s criminal empire overseas. The new teaser hints at bigger challenges, international locations, and dangerous decisions that could put everything they have built at risk. From the stunning landscapes of Lake Maggiore in Italy to tense criminal negotiations, the upcoming season appears ready to expand the scale of the series.
The official storyline teases that Eddie and Susie will face a difficult choice as Bobby’s decisions become increasingly questionable. "The decisions Bobby is making seem to be increasingly unsound," the season synopsis reveals, suggesting that the duo may have to decide whether to intervene or risk losing control of the empire they helped build. As always in the world of crime, ambition comes with a dangerous price.
Returning cast members include Theo James, Kaya Scodelario, Daniel Ings, Ray Winstone, Joely Richardson, Vinnie Jones, Jasmine Blackborow, Michael Vu, Harry Goodwins, Ruby Sear, Pearce Quigley, and Giancarlo Esposito. The addition of new challenges and returning fan-favourite characters is expected to make the second chapter even more intense.
Created and co-written by Guy Ritchie, the series continues to carry the filmmaker’s signature storytelling style—combining stylish action, clever humour, complex criminals, and morally complicated characters. Matthew Read also serves as a co-writer, while episodes in the new season are directed by Guy Ritchie and Eran Creevy.
With its unique blend of British crime drama, comedy, and action, The Gentlemen has become one of Netflix’s most talked-about original series. Season 2 looks set to deliver more twists, betrayals, and explosive moments as Eddie and Susie attempt to stay ahead in a world where every deal comes with consequences.
The Gentlemen Season 2 will premiere on Netflix on September 3, 2026.
