New Delhi, July 9 (SocialNews.XYZ) In a swift and commendable action, the staff of Delhi Police's Police Station Bhajanpura has arrested three robbery accused immediately after the crime and recovered the stolen purse containing cash and identity documents, along with the knife allegedly used in the offence.
According to police, information was received at PS Bhajanpura on July 7 regarding a robbery at knifepoint near Gali No. 11, Mohanpuri. The complainant, Mohd. Hidayatullah, 29, said that three youths had threatened him with a knife, robbed him of his purse, and attempted to flee the spot.
As the victim raised an alarm, a nearby patrolling team comprising Head Constable Shripal and Constable Balraj immediately noticed the commotion. Displaying exceptional alertness and prompt response, the police personnel, with assistance from local residents, chased and overpowered all three accused before they could escape.
Upon receiving the information, Sub-Inspector Vivek, accompanied by Constable Yatender, reached the spot, took custody of the accused, and initiated legal proceedings.
During the personal search, a kitchen knife allegedly used in the robbery was recovered from the possession of Zuhaib alias Zubbi, while the stolen purse was recovered from Mohd. Kaif. The purse contained the complainant's Aadhaar card and Rs 1,600 in cash, all of which were recovered intact and taken into police custody.
Based on the complaint, FIR No. 311/2026 was registered at PS Bhajanpura under Sections 309(4), 307(2), and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and further investigation is underway.
The arrested accused have been identified as Zuhaib alias Zubbi, 18, son of Sameer Ahmed and a resident of Shaitan Chowk, Welcome; Mohd. Kaif, 20, son of Shehzad and a resident of Subhadh Mohalla, Delhi; and Umar, 20, son of Yamin and a resident of K-Block, Seelampur.
Police said no previous criminal involvement has been found against any of the accused so far.
The recovery included a kitchen knife and the victim's wallet containing Rs 1,600 in cash and identity documents. Police said the prompt response of the patrolling team, coupled with timely assistance from local residents, ensured the immediate arrest of the accused and complete recovery of the stolen property, reflecting the North-East District Police's commitment to public safety and swift action against street crime.
