Indian professionals making a mark across the world, says Rajasthan Chief Secy

Jaipur, July 8 (SocialNews.XYZ) Indian professionals are making a mark across the world as talent and skills have earned global recognition, with the former making significant contributions in countries across the world, said Rajasthan Chief Secretary V. Srinivas on Wednesday addressing a programme as a chief guest at the 'Women Drivers' Felicitation Ceremony in Jaipur.

He said that the Rajasthan government's Rajasthan Foundation is playing an important role in connecting non-resident Rajasthanis with their home state while facilitating information on overseas employment opportunities through its chapters established in various countries.

The Chief Secretary said that during the Pravasi Rajasthan Diwas, representatives of Rajasthan Foundation chapters from different countries highlighted the growing demand for professionally trained drivers capable of operating left-hand drive vehicles.

This led to the idea of developing specialised driving tracks in Rajasthan to provide internationally aligned training in left-hand driving, he added.

He said that initiatives by organisations such as the Azad Foundation and Sakha are creating new avenues of employment for women while setting an inspiring example of women's empowerment that can be replicated by other institutions.

In this programme, six women who overcame financial hardship and social barriers to pursue their dreams, marked the beginning of a new chapter.

In the programme, jointly organised by the Azad Foundation and SBI Foundation at the Rajasthan International Centre (RIC), these women were presented with car keys after successfully completing their training as professional drivers.

The women felicitated with car keys included Sanju, associated with Sakha Cabs for five years; Vinita, who has been serving for one year; Sona, a professional driver for five years; Sumitra, who has also worked as a professional driver for five years; and Sandhya, associated with Sakha for the past four years.

Overcoming difficult social and family circumstances, these women have built successful professional careers through determination, hard work, and self-confidence, emerging as inspiring examples of self-reliance and women's empowerment.

The newly trained women drivers were formally flagged off at the conclusion of the ceremony.

Among those present were Bhawani Singh Detha, Rajasthan Transport Department Principal Secretary,; Alka Sharma, Azad Foundation Governing Board Chairperson; Srinivas Rao, National Lead; and other distinguished guests.
