Lucknow, July 1 (SocialNews.XYZ) Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, president of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, has been admitted to Medanta Hospital in Lucknow after his health deteriorated due to an infection.

Doctors treating the seer said his condition is improving and he is expected to recover within the next few days.

According to officials, Mahant Nritya Gopal Das was shifted to the hospital after developing health complications linked to an infection. He is currently undergoing treatment under the supervision of a team of doctors.

Speaking to IANS, Medanta Director Rakesh Kumar said, "Mahant Nritya Gopal Das was admitted to Medanta, Lucknow, on Monday with respiratory problems and a urinary infection. He was found to have a mild lung infection and a urinary infection, and treatment is ongoing."

"His health is improving, and it is expected that within 3–4 days he will recover fully and return home," Kumar added.

Sharad Sharma, Media Coordinator of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, told IANS that the seer had developed a mild fever after participating in a series of public programmes.

"Maharaj Ji developed a mild fever on June 29 following continuous birth anniversary programmes that were being held. Due to fatigue, he still remained seated on the stage. Given his advanced age and for a routine check-up due to fever, he was sent to Medanta Hospital on June 29. As per information received, he is completely fine and is expected to return by this evening," Sharma said.

Rakesh Kumar further said that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has been regularly enquiring about the health of the senior seer.

This is the second time this year that Mahant Nritya Gopal Das has been admitted to the hospital due to health-related issues. Earlier in January, he was also admitted to Medanta Hospital in Lucknow after his health deteriorated. He later recovered following treatment and was discharged.

The seer has faced health complications on previous occasions as well. In April 2022, he was admitted to Medanta Hospital after complaining of a urinary tract infection.

Doctors had then diagnosed him with a kidney infection and chronic renal failure, a condition in which the kidneys are unable to function properly. He was also found to be suffering from a urinary tract infection (UTI), affecting parts of the urinary system, including the kidneys and bladder.

Mahant Nritya Gopal Das had also tested positive for COVID and remained under medical supervision for several days before recovering and returning to Ayodhya.

At around 86 years of age, the senior religious leader has remained under regular medical observation due to age-related health concerns.

Mahant Nritya Gopal Das is the Peethadheeshwar (head) of Ayodhya's largest temple, Mani Ram Das Ki Chavani, and also serves as the president of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, which oversees the management and development of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
