Bhopal, June 30 (SocialNews.XYZ) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will visit Seoni district on Wednesday to participate in the state-level “Dhan Mahotsav” (Rice Festival), where he is expected to announce a significant boost to the region’s development and farmer welfare.
In a key highlight of the visit, CM Yadav will directly transfer incentive payments totalling Rs 282.99 crore to 3,941 Kodo-Kutki (millet) producers. The amount, disbursed at the rate of Rs 1,000 per quintal, will be credited to the farmers' bank accounts with a single click.
During the event, the Chief Minister will lay the foundation for or inaugurate 629 development works worth Rs 494.16 crore. This substantial package is being described as a major gift to the people of Seoni, encompassing infrastructure and public welfare initiatives to accelerate the district's growth.
This financial support is designed to encourage the cultivation of these nutritious millets, enhance production, and significantly improve farmers' income, a press statement said here on Tuesday.
The high-profile event will be graced by several prominent leaders, including Revenue Minister and district in-charge Karan Singh Verma, Agriculture Minister Aidal Singh Kanshana, MP Phaggan Singh Kuldhiste, and MP Sanjuni Bharti Pardhi.
The Dhan Mahotsav promises to be a vibrant celebration of paddy farming and agricultural innovation. Large exhibitions will showcase the achievements of various government departments. Visitors will get an opportunity to witness modern machinery for rice cultivation, learn about natural farming practices and organic gardens, and explore custom hiring centres.
Displays will also feature GI-tagged products, millet-based items, and products under the PMFME scheme, it said. Adding to the rich experience, there will be exhibits of diverse mango varieties, handicrafts and products by self-help groups, minor forest produce, and items crafted by local entrepreneurs. Special nutritional food items will also be highlighted.
Additionally, information on digital land records, agriculture-related mobile applications, and farmer credit cards will be made available to empower visitors with practical knowledge.
By combining large-scale infrastructure rollout with direct financial benefits and knowledge-sharing platforms, the state-level paddy festival aims to motivate farmers to adopt better practices and achieve higher productivity.
The grand celebration is expected to draw a large number of farmers, agricultural experts, and citizens, making it a memorable occasion for Seoni and the broader agricultural community of Madhya Pradesh.
