Nagpur/Mumbai, June 17 (SocialNews.XYZ) Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Maharashtra Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Wednesday firmly distanced the party from speculation surrounding the alleged political manoeuvre dubbed “Operation Tiger.”
Speaking to reporters in Nagpur, Bawankule said the BJP had no connection with the controversy. “I have no information about ‘Operation Tiger’. I do not know what it is, who brought it, and why it was brought,” he stated, adding that the matter was strictly between the leadership of Eknath Shinde and Uddhav Thackeray.
His remarks came amid reports that several Shiv Sena (UBT) MPs had travelled to Delhi, fuelling defection rumours. Responding to allegations by Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut that MPs were being offered advances of Rs 15 crore, Bawankule countered that elected representatives do not change sides merely for financial gain. He suggested that the Uddhav Thackeray-led faction should introspect on why its lawmakers were leaving.
Bawankule reiterated that the BJP’s focus remained on governance and development under Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, dismissing claims of involvement in opposition instability.
Meanwhile, BJP State Chief Spokesperson Navnath Ban launched a sharp attack on Sanjay Raut, asserting that neither the BJP nor the Shiv Sena had any connection with the speculated “Operation Tiger.” He said the turmoil was the result of internal disputes within the Uddhav Thackeray-led faction.
Ban accused Raut of toxic rhetoric and abusive language, claiming that his conduct had eroded public respect. He added that political organisations cannot survive on emotional oaths alone, stressing that Uddhav Thackeray and Raut had strayed from the principles of late Balasaheb Thackeray.
“Why are people abandoning your party? It is because you abandoned your father’s legacy, discarded Hindutva, and tied yourselves to the Congress. The public has already shown who the real tiger is and who is running scared,” Ban remarked, predicting further decline for the UBT faction.
