New Delhi, June 17 (SocialNews.XYZ) Two members of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's gang have been arrested in connection with the firing outside a gym in Delhi last week, police said on Wednesday.
Two motorcycle-borne assailants allegedly opened fire outside 24HS Fitness Gym belonging to Punjabi singer Guru Randhawa in Paschim Vihar, at around 4 a.m. on June 11. Nobody was injured in the incident.
Local police immediately reached the spot and seized seven empty cartridges. Subsequently, an FIR was registered at Paschim Vihar East Police Station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Arms Act, and an investigation was initiated.
Later, an Instagram post by Anil Pandit, reportedly a member of the Bishnoi gang, went viral on social media. In the post, he claimed responsibility for the firing incident. He stated that the incident was carried out by "Anil Pandit USA of Lawrence Bishnoi Group".
The post further alleged that Guru Randhawa was getting "too close" to Bollywood actor Salman Khan. He also claimed that they had previously warned Randhawa to stay away from Salman Khan, whom they label as their enemy.
A dedicated team of NDR/Crime Branch, R.K. Puram, led by Inspector Rakesh Kumar, and comprising Sub-Inspectors Ashok Kumar, Saurabh, Narender, ASI Vikash, HCs Sanjay, Sandeep, Rahul, Irshad, Ravinder, Nahanji, Bhag Singh and Satyawan in the supervision of ACP/NDR Umesh Barthwal, was constituted to investigate the case.
The police team examined every minute of technical data, reconstructed the escape route of the assailants and traced their movements across a stretch of nearly 100 kilometres. Every possible route, junction, service lane, and highway link was scrutinised to piece together the movements of the suspects before and after the commission of the crime. Simultaneously, the officials worked around the clock on technical surveillance, human intelligence development, and verification of criminal networks operating in Delhi, Haryana, and neighbouring regions.
Finally, the team succeeded in identifying the alleged perpetrators as Sahil, Sagar, Arman, and Tushar. Thereafter, the investigation of the case was transferred from the local police to NDR/R.K. Puram, Crime Branch.
Investigators said that the police team developed intelligence regarding the movements and hideouts of two of the accused persons, Arman and Tushar, and that multiple teams were strategically deployed to nab them.
Acting swiftly on specific information, the team conducted a well-coordinated operation on June 15 and successfully apprehended the two accused from Haryana's Bahadurgarh. Police said that both the accused admitted their involvement in the crime and were then arrested.
According to officials, the arrested accused are currently in police custody and are being interrogated to ascertain and bust the entire syndicate of the Lawrence Bisnoi gang involved in the firing incident at the gym.
Police teams are still working to apprehend the remaining accused involved in this shootout and to recover the weapon used in the commission of the crime.
