Paramita Tripathi also met the Governor of the Capital Governorate of Kuwait, Sheikh Abdullah Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah. Both of them held talks focused on elements of the Strategic Partnership and the contribution and welfare of the Indian community in Kuwait.

On June 6, Tripathi met Kuwait's Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs, Tareq Al-Jalahma, and discussed strengthening cooperation in sports and youth engagement.

"Ambassador Paramita Tripathi met H.E. Dr. Tareq Al-Jalahma, Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs of Kuwait. Discussions were held on ways to strengthen India–Kuwait cooperation in sports and youth engagement, especially through the implementation of the Executive Programme on Sports Cooperation signed during the visit of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to Kuwait in December 2024, and future opportunities for exchanges, training programmes, sporting events, and youth initiatives," Indian Embassy in Kuwait posted on X.

"Views were also exchanged on collaboration for the International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2026 in Kuwait, reflecting the shared commitment of both countries to promote sports, holistic health and wellness," it added.

Earlier in March, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephonic conversation with Kuwait Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, discussing the evolving situation in West Asia and sharing concerns over the recent developments.

PM Modi reiterated India's condemnation of attacks on Kuwait's sovereignty and territorial integrity. He also thanked Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah for continued support and for ensuring the safety and well-being of the Indian community in Kuwait.

"Spoke with HH Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, Crown Prince of Kuwait and conveyed greetings on the upcoming festival of Eid. We exchanged views on the evolving situation in West Asia and shared concerns over recent developments. Reiterated India’s condemnation of attacks on Kuwait’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Ensuring safe and free navigation through the Strait of Hormuz remains our foremost priority," PM Modi posted on X.

"We agreed that sustained diplomatic engagement remains essential for regional peace and stability. I thanked him for continued support for the safety and well-being of the Indian community in Kuwait," he added.

The conversation between both leaders took place amid the ongoing tensions in West Asia, which erupted following the US-Israeli strikes on Iran on February 28, which killed Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and top military officials. In response, Iran launched drone and missile attacks targeting the US and Israeli facilities, regional capitals and allied forces in West Asia.
