Tezpur, May 26 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Army’s Gajraj Corps on Tuesday successfully hosted a military-civil fusion seminar titled “Sonitpur SAMVAD” in Tezpur, aimed at strengthening civil-military cooperation and promoting collective nation-building under the vision of “Samoohik Prayas Se Rashtranirman” with the guiding principle of “Rashtra Sarvopari”.
A defence spokesman said that the acronym SAMVAD represents the core pillars of the initiative -- Samanvay, Aatmanirbharta, Mansik Dridhta, Vishwas aur Vikas -- with the larger goal of achieving the objectives of Amritkaal while keeping national interest above all.
Addressing the distinguished gathering, the General Officer Commanding (GOC), Gajraj Corps, highlighted JAI -- Jointness, Aatmanirbharta, and Innovation -- as the guiding framework for building a secure, resilient, and future-ready India in line with the national vision of ‘Viksit Bharat-2047’.
The GOC also underscored the importance of coordinated action, convergence of institutional capabilities, and time-bound implementation of achievable goals to accelerate national development and enhance regional resilience.
The spokesman said that, in a significant step towards deepening civil-military cooperation, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi Regional Institute of Mental Health (LGBRIMH) and Army hospitals under the Gajraj Corps.
The collaboration aims to strengthen holistic mental healthcare through clinical support, professional training, research initiatives, and community outreach programmes, thereby promoting mental well-being among both military personnel and civilians.
The initiative marks a meaningful advancement in fostering integrated development, institutional collaboration, and collective nation-building efforts, while also reinforcing the importance of mental health and emotional resilience.
The seminar witnessed participation from senior representatives of the Assam administration and several key institutions, including the Vice Chancellor of Tezpur University, Inspector General of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Inspector General of Sonitpur Range, Divisional Forest Officer, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Chairman of the Bar Council and Municipality, as well as members of the medical fraternity from Tezpur.
Meanwhile, further strengthening civil-military bonds, the Assam Rifles celebrated the nationwide ‘Fit India Movement’ through a series of vibrant fitness events held at the Battalion Headquarters and the IB Helipad in Moreh, Manipur’s Tengnoupal district, on Monday.
Approximately 60 troops and 20 civilians enthusiastically participated in immersive yoga sessions and an energetic Zumba workout programme aimed at promoting fitness, wellness, and community engagement, the defence spokesman added.
