Delhi CM discusses development issues with Chhattisgarh counterpart

New Delhi, May 25 (SocialNews.XYZ) Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai called on Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday, and the two heads of BJP-ruled states discussed issues of cooperation and sustainable development, an official said.

Sharing details of the interaction, Chief Minister Gupta said on X, “A courtesy meeting was held with the Honourable Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Shri @vishnudsaiji.”

 

“During this meeting, there was a detailed and positive discussion on promoting cooperation between the two states and various dimensions of development. The sustainable development of both states and cooperation will further accelerate our shared goal of a developed India,” she said.

In another development, the Chief Minister joined the “Monday Metro” initiative and used public transport to travel from her home to the office.

Sharing her experience, the CM wrote, “Once again, I chose the Metro and DTC bus to travel to Delhi Secretariat this Monday. Proud to see so many Delhiites making public transport part of their daily routine. Every metro ride, bus journey, and shared commute helps cut traffic, pollution, and fuel use. A small step, big national impact.”

On May 18, the Chief Minister also took the Metro for commuting between her home and office.

Chief Minister has started taking a metro ride on Mondays as part of the “Mera Bharat, Mera Yogdan” campaign, promoting the message of conservation at a time when fuel prices have become a politically sensitive issue.

During the journey, the Chief Minister was also seen interacting with fellow passengers and encouraging the use of public transport.

On May 11, PM Modi reiterated his appeal for reduced fuel consumption and greater use of public transport and electric vehicles. He also urged citizens to defer gold purchases amid the ongoing West Asia crisis, which has caused large-scale disruptions.

Earlier in the day, Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta joined the “Metro Monday” campaign to save fuel and travelled to Vidhan Sabha from his residence at Tilak Marg in public transport, an official said.

Beginning his journey from the Supreme Court Metro Station, Speaker Gupta interacted with commuters and highlighted the importance of adopting eco-friendly modes of travel in daily life.

During his journey, Gupta changed trains at Rajiv Chowk Metro Station and proceeded towards Vidhan Sabha Metro Station, from where he reached the Delhi Legislative Assembly, the official said in a statement.
