Ujjain, May 12 (SocialNews.XYZ) A five-month-old baby suffering from a serious heart ailment was airlifted from Madhya Pradesh's Ujjain to Bengaluru on Tuesday under the state government's 'PM Shri Air Ambulance Service' for advanced treatment, government officials said.
The infant, Yatharth Singh Ranawat, from Sanoria village in Ujjain district, was taken from Indore to the Narayana Hospital in Bengaluru after doctors advised urgent specialised cardiac care.
Sharing the information, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said the state government would bear the entire cost of the child's treatment under the Ayushman Niramay Yojana.
"We pray to God that he makes a speedy and complete recovery, bringing smiles back to his family's home."
The Chief Minister also wrote, "The life of every citizen is invaluable. We are committed to saving every life at any cost."
According to information, Yatharth was first examined by doctors in Madhya Pradesh, who recommended immediate transfer to a super-speciality hospital due to the complexity of his heart condition.
Considering the critical nature of the case, the state government arranged an air ambulance to ensure swift transportation to Bengaluru, where advanced paediatric cardiac treatment facilities are available.
The PM Shri Air Ambulance Service was launched by the Madhya Pradesh government in May 2024 to provide rapid medical transportation for critically-ill patients requiring urgent treatment.
The service is designed to assist patients injured in road accidents, industrial accidents, natural disasters, and those suffering from life-threatening illnesses who need immediate access to advanced hospitals within or outside the state.
Under the scheme, beneficiaries holding Ayushman cards can avail free air ambulance services to government hospitals and empanelled Ayushman healthcare institutions.
Patients without Ayushman cards are provided free transportation to government hospitals within Madhya Pradesh, while fixed charges are applicable for treatment at hospitals outside the state.
Yatharth's family thanked the state government for the prompt assistance, saying private air ambulance services were beyond their financial capacity.
