Kolkata, Aprill 21 (SocialNews.XYZ) Alleging that "appeasement politics" under the Trinamool Congress has worsened the condition of Hindus in West Bengal, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would restore balance, strengthen law and order, and take firm action against illegal infiltration if voted to power in the state.
Addressing a public rally in Balrampur, Chief Minister Sarma said that the people of West Bengal are increasingly looking towards the BJP as the only alternative capable of transforming the state into "Sonar Bangla".
He alleged that the ruling dispensation has indulged in vote-bank politics, which, according to the Assam Chief Minister, has led to insecurity among sections of society.
"Due to the politics of appeasement by the Trinamool Congress, the situation of Hindus in West Bengal has deteriorated," CM Sarma claimed, while urging voters to support the BJP in the upcoming state elections.
The Assam Chief Minister also said that the BJP government, if elected, would identify and deport "illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators", stressing that national security and demographic balance would be among the party's top priorities.
Expressing confidence in the party's poll prospects, Chief Minister Sarma said, "People know that only the BJP can build a 'Sonar Bangla' and bring real development to the state."
He added that West Bengal has historically played a leading role in shaping India's cultural and political identity and deserves governance that reflects its legacy.
Issuing a stern warning over alleged political violence, Chief Minister Sarma said that any attempt to target BJP workers after the election results would invite strict legal action.
"If, after May 4, any BJP worker is harmed under the Trinamool Congress' 'goondaraj', there will be strong legal consequences, and we will respond through democratic means," he added.
He concluded by saying that "Bengal doesn't hold back when it is with the BJP", calling on voters to decisively back the party in the upcoming Assembly elections.
