Patna, April 21 (SocialNews.XYZ) Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) supremo and Rajya Sabha MP Upendra Kushwaha on Tuesday announced a state-wide ‘Dhikkar March’ (March of Condemnation) to be held across Bihar on April 22, aimed at protesting against opposition parties over issues related to women’s representation and delimitation.
Addressing the media persons in Patna, Kushwaha alleged that opposition parties had obstructed the passage of key legislations, including the Women’s Reservation and Delimitation-related measures.
“We will expose the true intentions of the opposition before the public. With this objective, our party will organise a Dhikkar March across Bihar on April 22,” he said.
He sharply criticised the Indian National Congress and constituents of the Mahagathbandhan, accusing them of betraying women in Bihar and across the country.
He claimed that these parties were unwilling to ensure adequate political representation for women.
Kushwaha asserted that his party has long been advocating for delimitation, stating that, if implemented, Bihar’s Lok Sabha seats could increase from 40 to 60 and its Assembly seats from 243 to 365—thereby creating more opportunities for women’s participation in legislative bodies.
“The opposition is not acting in the best interests of Bihar, especially its women. Through this march, we will expose their real character,” he added.
The RLM plans to organise the ‘Dhikkar March’ at all district headquarters in Bihar, positioning it as a major political outreach initiative.
Reiterating his party’s stance, Kushwaha said, “We are committed to ensuring rightful representation for women in both the Lok Sabha and State Assemblies. Alongside women, Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC) must also receive equal rights in line with the principles of social justice.”
The three bills, including the Women's Reservation Amendment Bill, failed to pass in the Lok Sabha recently. Since then, the NDA constituent partners have been blaming the leaders of the INDIA bloc. They are alleging that opposition leaders have an anti-women mindset.
