Srinagar, April 17 (SocialNews.XYZ) Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, V.K. Birdi, on Friday, chaired a security review meeting at the Police Control Room (PCR), Kashmir, to evaluate and finalise security arrangements for the forthcoming events in the Kashmir Valley.
The meeting was attended by Inspector General Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Srinagar Sector, Inspector General CRPF KOS, Additional Commissioner SB Srinagar; Deputy Inspectors General of CRPF (North Srinagar & KOS); Deputy Inspector General Traffic Kashmir; Deputy Inspector General Central Kashmir Range; Deputy Inspector General South Kashmir Range; Deputy Inspector General Border Security Force Operations Frontier; Deputy Inspector General Sashastra Seema Bal Srinagar; Deputy Inspector General Indo-Tibetan Border Police; all District Senior Superintendents of Police of Kashmir Zone; Assistant Director Subsidiary Intelligence Bureau Srinagar; Colonel General Staff 15 Corps; Senior Superintendents of Police of PCR Kashmir, Traffic Rural Kashmir, Railways Kashmir, Security Kashmir, State Disaster Response Force 1st Battalion Srinagar, Criminal Investigation Department Counter Intelligence Kashmir, Armed Police Control Room, Traffic City Srinagar and other senior officers.
The meeting primarily focused on reviewing security arrangements in anticipation of the forthcoming events. Deliberations emphasised the need to further strengthen the existing security framework and optimise the deployment of personnel at critical and sensitive locations.
The Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, directed officers to intensify surveillance of anti-national elements and enhance area domination in their respective jurisdictions.
He stressed the need to strengthen security around vulnerable installations, including prominent tourist destinations, to ensure a safe environment for visitors.
He further emphasised strict surveillance along inter-district boundaries to prevent any suspicious movement.
Special directions were issued regarding effective traffic management in Srinagar city, instructing the implementation of a comprehensive traffic plan to ease congestion, ensure smooth vehicular movement, and minimise inconvenience to the public.
The Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, also reviewed preparedness for Hajj arrangements, directing officers to ensure adequate security, facilitation, and coordination at all designated points to guarantee the safe and orderly movement of pilgrims.
V.K. Birdi instructed district heads to maintain strict vigilance over social media platforms to curb the spread of misinformation that could adversely impact public safety and order.
He also called for intensified cordon-and-search operations, particularly in sensitive areas across the Valley and along National Highways.
The meeting concluded with a firm resolve to maintain the highest standards of preparedness, coordination, and responsiveness to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of all forthcoming events.
