Jaipur, April 17 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Speaker of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, Vasudev Devnani, on Friday announced that participants from various countries across the globe will visit and observe the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly on Saturday.

A total of 43 participants from 17 countries, including Bangladesh, Bhutan, Ghana, Kenya, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, and Zambia, will take part in this international programme.

Speaking about the initiative, Devnani informed that the 37th International Training Programme on the theme “International Legislative Drafting” is being organised at the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly by the Parliamentary Research and Training Institute for Democracies (PRIDE) under the Lok Sabha Secretariat.

He said the programme is being conducted under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) scheme of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. He explained that the objective of the programme is to enhance the conceptual understanding, skills, and techniques of legislative drafting among the foreign participants.

As part of the programme, the visiting delegation will tour the Assembly Hall, the Legislative Assembly building, and the Political Narrative Museum on Saturday.

Devnani said that this initiative will help project the State Legislature on an international platform. Participants, he said, will also be briefed on the functioning, legislative processes, and parliamentary traditions of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly.

In addition, the delegates will interact with Presiding Officers and the Assembly Secretary, meet eminent legal experts and dignitaries, and visit key legal institutions within the state.

Devnani further stated that visits to prominent tourist attractions will also be organised to acquaint participants with Rajasthan’s rich cultural heritage.

"This programme will provide representatives from different countries an opportunity to gain deeper insight into India’s democratic system and the legislative functioning of its states, thereby strengthening parliamentary cooperation and fostering international knowledge exchange, Devnani further said.

Earlier in January this year, a 120-member parliamentary delegation from 40 Commonwealth countries arrived in Jaipur on a two-day visit.
