Amaravati, April 16 (SocialNews.XYZ) Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has congratulated Nara Lokesh on being appointed as the national working president of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
The Jana Sena leader, in a statement on Thursday, wished that Lokesh, who served as the national general secretary of the TDP, become successful in his new responsibility. He hoped that Lokesh will continue the spirit of coalition.
Pawan Kalyan also congratulated Palla Srinivas Rao for being appointed as the TDP state president for another term.
Meanwhile, Lokesh thanked Pawan Kalyan for congratulating him and conveying his best wishes.
“With your blessings and in keeping with your aspirations, the alliance spirit will continue even more amicably with coordination and with the objective of state's progress and public welfare. I will live up to the trust you've placed in me as your brother. Heartfelt gratitude for the affection you're showing towards me as a brother,” Lokesh posted on ‘X’.
Lokesh, son of Chief Minister and TDP national working president N. Chandrababu Naidu, was Wednesday appointed as the national working president.
This is the first time in TDP’s history that a national working president has been appointed.
Lokesh is a minister in Naidu-led Cabinet, handling the portfolio of human resources development, information technology and electronics.
He is already seen as the heir-apparent of Chandrababu Naidu and his appointment as working president has confirmed that the 43-year-old will be the political successor of Chandrababu Naidu, who will be turning 76 on April 20.
Lokesh promotion came nearly two years after the TDP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) came to power with a landslide majority.
Reacting to his appointment, Lokesh stated that he was ‘deeply honored’.
“Grateful to our party cadre, whose unwavering belief has shaped my journey, and to our leader Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu garu for his constant guidance and trust,” Lokesh had posted on ‘X.
“From being a karyakarta to taking on this responsibility, every step has been a learning built on your support, struggles, and sacrifices. I dedicate my life to the ideals of our party and to the people of Andhra Pradesh, and I will work tirelessly to strengthen our movement and serve our state with honesty, commitment, and purpose. This is not just a position, but a lifelong responsibility,” he added.
