Kolkata Police to immediately execute pending arrest warrants against miscreants

Kolkata, April 14 (SocialNews.XYZ) In the run-up to the two-phase Assembly elections, Kolkata Police have issued strict instructions to the police stations under its jurisdiction to immediately execute pending arrest warrants against miscreants.

This time, Lalbazar (Kolkata Police headquarters) has asked them to take immediate action in this regard. It has been instructed that either those who have warrants in their names must be arrested, or Lalbazar must be informed about the action being taken so far against them, said a senior officer on Tuesday.

The Election Commission had earlier given a strict message about executing non-bailable arrest warrants. This time, Lalbazar has issued instructions to the same effect. However, not only non-bailable, but also in the case of bailable warrants, the concerned police station must be informed about the action being taken.

According to Lalbazar, the police stations must take immediate action on all the warrants that have not been executed yet. In some cases, where action has not been taken, they have been asked to provide a list of the pending warrants. At the same time, police personnel have also been asked to be careful in carrying out their duties. As per the officers, it is being observed that a few people are not following government rules and regulations. Lalbazar has given a clear message that everyone should follow the rules.

After Supratim Sarkar became the Kolkata Police Commissioner, he issued 15-point guidelines regarding the conduct of police personnel on social media. Soon after the model code of conduct for Assembly polls was introduced in the state, the Election Commission of India (ECI) removed Supratim Sarkar and appointed Ajay Nand as the new Kolkata Police Commissioner. The new guidelines state that the rules set by Supratim Sarkar regarding social media should be followed.

A few days ago, the Commission had given a set of instructions to lower-level police officials. There, non-bailable warrants were mentioned separately. It was said that those against whom non-bailable warrants were issued should be arrested within 10 days. It was also asked to quickly conclude all the criminal cases that were filed during the previous elections. It was informed that during the election, all the government employees of the state actually work under the ECI. Therefore, the poll body can take action against them.
