Tumbbad Returns With a Dark Promise as Motion Poster for Sequel Drops

The haunting world of Tumbbad is back, and it’s darker than ever. Actor-producer Sohum Shah unveiled the motion poster for Tumbbad 2, sending fans into a frenzy. Sharing the eerie glimpse, the caption read, "Every saint has a past. Every sinner has a future. The legacy of sin returns, the cycle of greed continues… Welcome to the world of TUMBBAD, once again!"—setting the tone for a chilling continuation of the cult horror universe.

 

The 23-second motion poster is rich in atmosphere, showcasing a haunting sculptural figure surrounded by demonic forms, hinting at deeper mythological layers. With the ominous tagline “Pralay Aayega,” the sequel promises to expand on the themes of greed, sin, and consequence that made the original film a standout. The visual tone remains consistent with the unsettling, folklore-driven aesthetic that defined the first installment.

 

Marking a major update for fans, the makers have confirmed that filming for Tumbbad 2 has officially begun. The project brings together Sohum Shah as both actor and producer, with Nawazuddin Siddiqui joining the cast, and direction by Adesh Prasad. The film is backed by Sohum Shah Films in collaboration with PEN Studios, with Jayantilal Gada presenting the project.

 

Arriving nearly eight years after the 2018 cult classic Tumbbad, the sequel carries immense expectations.
