New Delhi, April 4 (SocialNews.XYZ) In a major crackdown under its zero-tolerance policy against drugs, the Delhi Police’s Anti-Narcotics Squad (ANS) on Saturday arrested two drug suppliers and seized a commercial quantity of ganja, along with cash and packaging materials.
According to the East District Police, the operation led to the arrest of two accused, identified as Nadeem, 28, and Monu alias Abhishek, 25. The police recovered 45.760 kg of ganja, valued at approximately Rs 23 lakh in the illicit market. In addition, cash amounting to Rs 2,65,400, an electronic weighing machine, and bulk packaging materials were seized from the spot.
The breakthrough came as part of the Delhi Police’s sustained efforts to curb narcotics trafficking and dismantle organised drug networks. A dedicated team of the ANS, comprising SI Rahul Monga, SI Vikas, ASI Arun Kumar, ASI Amit Kumar, and other personnel, was formed under the supervision of Inspector Arun Kumar, In-Charge ANS/East, and the overall guidance of ACP Operations Pawan Kumar.
Acting on specific intelligence received on April 2, the team learned that the accused had stored a large quantity of ganja at a residential premises in Jawahar Mohallah, Shashi Garden, for further distribution. Acting swiftly, the police conducted a raid at the location and found both accused actively engaged in packaging the contraband into smaller pouches.
During the search, four plastic bags containing the substance were recovered. Upon weighing and verification, the seized ganja was found to be 45 kg and 760 grams, which falls under the commercial quantity category as per the NDPS Act. A case (FIR No. 90/2026) has been registered at Police Station Pandav Nagar under relevant sections of the NDPS Act, and both accused were arrested on the spot.
During interrogation, the accused revealed that they were part of an organised narcotics supply chain operating across Delhi-NCR. They procured ganja in bulk from interstate sources and stored it in residential areas to avoid suspicion. The drugs were repackaged into smaller quantities using basic tools such as staplers and adhesive tape for easy distribution through local networks.
Police said both accused have no prior criminal records. Nadeem, a resident of Shashi Garden, is married and studied up to Class 8, while Monu, a resident of Shastri Mohalla, Patparganj, is unmarried and studied up to Class 7.
Further investigation is underway to trace the backward and forward linkages of the supply chain, including possible interstate connections.
