Addressing Astro Cultural Mahotsav, Astro Conclave 2026, Gupta emphasised the necessity of introspection in modern life.
Gupta remarked that in an era dominated by the "speed of discourse," platforms that encourage patient inquiry and traditional wisdom are vital for maintaining societal harmony and direction.
The Speaker highlighted that India’s civilisational journey has always been defined by a unique synthesis of reason and intuition.
He noted that astrology, in its classical sense, is not merely a practice but a philosophical effort to understand time as a meaningful continuum.
Gupta observed that such systems of knowledge reflect a deep-seated belief in the interconnectedness of human existence and the cosmos, inviting a sense of reflection and humility that remains deeply relevant in the 21st century.
Emphasising the global impact of Indian heritage, Gupta spoke about the role of traditional knowledge as a pillar of India’s "soft power."
He stated that when India’s intellectual traditions, including philosophy, arts, and ancient sciences, are presented with authenticity and intellectual clarity, they serve as powerful bridges for international dialogue.
He noted that the world increasingly looks toward India’s rootedness to find a balance between modern advancement and ancient wisdom.
Gupta also underscored the essential link between culture and responsible leadership.
He maintained that cultural expressions such as music, scholarship, and poetry are not just forms of entertainment but are foundational to building an informed and grounded society.
According to the Speaker, these traditions cultivate the discipline and sensitivity required for meaningful public discourse and the strengthening of democratic values.
