Law and order has collapsed in Bengal; Mamata Banerjee's exit is certain: BJP

New Delhi, April 3 (SocialNews.XYZ) Veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, on Friday, launched a sharp attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, claiming that the law and order situation in the state has "completely collapsed" and asserting that her exit from power is "certain this time".

Speaking to IANS, Naqvi said Chief Minister Banerjee's current political condition reflects growing frustration, adding that such a situation is not acceptable in the present political climate.

He alleged that the worsening law and order scenario in West Bengal is evident from reports of even judicial officials being targeted recently in Malda.

"One can imagine the condition of governance when even those connected to the judiciary are not safe," Naqvi said, terming the situation "deeply unfortunate" and accusing the state government of failing to take effective corrective measures.

The veteran BJP leader also claimed that the Trinamool Congress-led state government had systematically weakened constitutional institutions, which, according to Naqvi, has contributed to the prevailing situation.

"The reality of West Bengal today is known to everyone," he added.

Asserting that Chief Minister Banerjee is aware of her "imminent political defeat", Naqvi said that targeting central agencies like the Enforcement Directorate and the Central Bureau of Investigation for political mileage is a "misguided approach" that will not yield results.

He also said that after being in power for more than a decade, it is Mamata Banerjee's moral responsibility to present a comprehensive report card of her governance before the people of the state.

Taking a swipe at AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi over his recent remarks, Naqvi alleged that some leaders resort to "so-called secular theatrics" during election periods.

He accused them of exploiting the Muslim community for political gains rather than working towards their genuine empowerment.

"These are the people who raise 'miya-biwi' narratives for their benefit. They must understand that no one in India is unsafe -- neither 'miya' nor 'biwi'," Naqvi said, urging restraint in political rhetoric.

The veteran BJP leader also said that while India is moving steadily towards inclusive development, certain sections attempt to give a communal colour to governance and policy initiatives.

"Such political tendencies for creating divisions within society will not be accepted at any cost," Naqvi asserted.

Praising the Centre's performance, the veteran BJP leader said the Union government has responded effectively during crises and ensured welfare measures reach all sections of society.

He added that India continues to follow a development-driven approach rather than an expansionist one.
