Odia Film ‘Bindusagar’ Unveils Theatrical Poster, Gets A Release Date

The makers of Bindusagar have officially unveiled the theatrical poster of the much-anticipated film, announcing its worldwide release on April 17, 2026. Rooted in emotion and cultural depth, the film promises a heartfelt narrative that celebrates the essence of relationships and the beauty of life’s smallest moments coming together to form something profound.

 

Described as a story that captures the “fragrance of the soil and the depth of human relationships,” Bindusagar draws its title from the idea that every tiny ‘bindu’ (drop) contributes to a vast ‘sagar’ (ocean) of emotions. The film revolves around a young woman’s search for her roots, intertwined with a grieving father’s journey toward faith—creating a layered narrative of love, loss, and rediscovery.

 

Directed by Abhishek Swain, known for his work on Jajabara 2.0, the film marks the entry of Platoon One Films into Odia cinema. The project is being released across India by Prakash Films, signaling a strong push to bring regional storytelling to a wider audience.

 

The film features a talented cast including Prakruti Mishra and Dipanwit Dashmohapatra, who bring to life characters shaped by cultural identity and emotional conflict. Backed by producers Shiladitya Bora, Vinay Reddy, Shubho Shekhar Bhattacharjee, and Nikhil Chaudhary, the film is a collaborative effort between Platoon One Films, Boundless Blackbuck Films, and MDC Filmworks.

 

Having already generated early buzz following its premiere at the International Film Festival of India and the release of its teaser earlier this year, Bindusagar is being seen as a film with both regional authenticity and global appeal. By connecting the traditions of Odisha with diaspora experiences, the film aims to resonate with audiences far beyond its roots when it arrives in cinemas this April.
