Proud Of My Father Says Saiee Manjrekar About Mahesh Manjrekar’s One Man Play

Actress Saiee Manjrekar recently opened about her admiration and pride for her father, veteran actor and filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar, following his solo stage performance in a highly anticipated one-man play, titled Animal. 

 

The daughter of Mahesh and Medha Manjrekar, Saiee expressed how inspiring it was to watch her father bring his dream project to life with such energy and dedication. 

 

Speaking about the experience, Saiee said, “I am very, very proud. I have to say, very, very proud. I was very excited to see this. The play was amazing. I remember having heard this in my life. It's his dream project, and to see him at this as he put in that much energy, to be a one-man show, it's just him, and I think it's really a proud moment for me, and it's so inspiring. I think just hearing him talk about this all my life, him actually coming forward and doing it himself directly, it's just been amazing.”

 

Reflecting on the unique experience, she added, “When asked usually, it's like parents see their children fulfilling their dreams, but you see their father fulfilling your dream. Proud at most, I see him on that stage, and this is amazing. I think it was really a proud moment for me. I didn't expect this. I truly believe I've heard this so many times. He told me the monologues, told me the ideas so many times. But then I acted out the finished product. I didn't expect it to turn out like this. I'm so proud.”

 

Saiee also highlighted her father’s incredible stamina and versatility on stage, saying, “I just felt so proud and the energy of the dancing, singing, getting up, getting down, changing clothes in the middle of everything, and I think about his age. I think we sometimes complain about our age, too, but for him to pull that off at his age like that, really something.”

 

When asked about seeing herself in her father’s performance and how much of her is reflected in him, Saiee added, “How much of myself I was seeing in him. I think he sees hopefully a lot of himself in me.”

 

Saiee Manjrekar, who made her acting debut with Dabangg 3, has since appeared in Telugu films including Ghani, Major, and Skanda. Her heartfelt reflections on her father’s solo play highlight not only the artistic dedication of Mahesh Manjrekar but also the inspiring bond between father and daughter.
