Shabana Azmi, Bhumi Pednekar And More Celebrate Power and Purpose at ‘We The Women”

Mumbai witnessed an inspiring evening of courage, candour and celebration as Women of Impact, a special edition of We The Women curated by senior journalist Barkha Dutt, unfolded on March 2, 2026. Positioned as a meaningful countdown to International Women’s Day, the invite-only gathering focused on “depth over decibels,” spotlighting women who are reshaping narratives across industries. The format blended powerful, no-holds-barred conversations with a curated cocktail soirée, creating a space that was both intimate and electric.

 

The cinema world was represented by stalwarts like Shabana Azmi and Bhumi Pednekar, who spoke about craft, conviction and carving space in a competitive industry. They were joined by personalities such as Ayesha Khan, Seema Sajdeh, Neelam Kothari, Maheep Kapoor, and Bhavna Pandey — all adding their voices to conversations about reinvention, resilience, and relevance in the public eye.

 

Beyond cinema, the festival brought together achievers from diverse arenas. National record-holding hurdler Jyothi Yarraji represented sports with stories of discipline and determination.
