New Delhi, Jan 20 (SocialNews.XYZ) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday met BJP’s new National President Nitin Nabin at the party headquarters and conveyed her best wishes for leading the world’s largest political party.
The Chief Minister said that Nabin’s rise from a simple and humble background to the position of National President through consistent work in the organisation as a dedicated BJP worker is an inspiring journey.
She added that appointing Nabin as National President at the age of 45 clearly demonstrates that the Bharatiya Janata Party’s confidence in the strength of youth goes beyond rhetoric, and is consistently reflected in the party’s organisational framework, decision-making processes, and approach to leadership development.
Earlier during the day, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva accompanied Nabin to places of worship before his election.
Along with Nabin, Sachdeva, Delhi Government Ministers Pravesh Verma and Manjinder Singh Sirsa, BJP National Co–Media Head Sanjay Mayukh, and others visited the Jhandewalan temple to offer prayers to Mata Jhandewali, the Goddess of Shakti.
Thereafter, they offered prayers at Shri Balmiki Mandir located on Mandir Marg, the ancient Hanuman Temple on Baba Kharag Singh Marg and Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, said a statement.
At the time of taking charge, the new BJP president was accompanied by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to his office.
Other senior leaders who flanked him included Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari and outgoing party president Jagat Prasad Nadda.
PM Modi also met the family members of Nabin briefly, congratulated them on his assuming the big role and shared some light-hearted conversations.
Earlier, addressing the BJP leaders and workers, PM Modi described Nitin Nabin as his ‘boss’ and himself as a mere party worker.
"When it comes to the party affairs, then I am a worker, and Nitin Nabin is my boss," he said amid loud cheers at the party headquarters.
Nabin has "youth energy" as well as a "long experience in the organisation", the Prime Minister further said, adding that these will be "very beneficial" for the party.
