Rakesh Chandra Swami suffered a sudden brain stroke and had been on ventilator support at Bellevue Hospital for three days prior to his passing. Upon receiving news of the medical emergency, Arjun Bijlani and his wife Neha Swami, who were vacationing in Dubai for New Year celebrations, immediately returned to Mumbai.
During the funeral, Arjun Bijlani served as a pallbearer and performed the last rites alongside family members. Heart-wrenching videos from the ceremony surfaced on social media, showing an emotional Neha Swami running toward the ambulance carrying her father’s remains. Arjun was also seen comforting and hugging their young son, Ayaan, during the emotional proceedings.
Several industry friends attended the funeral to pay their respects, including Nia Sharma, Kanika Mann, and Chetna Panday, highlighting the support from Arjun’s television fraternity during this difficult time.
The family requested privacy as they grieve the sudden loss of a loved one, and fans have expressed their condolences on social media for Arjun, Neha, and their family.
