Filmmaker Neeraj Pandey, known for hits like Special 26 and Baby, is back with an edge-of-the-seat crime drama, this time teaming up with Emraan Hashmi for the upcoming Netflix series Taskaree: The Smuggler’s Web. The recently unveiled teaser gives audiences a first glimpse into a world where every suitcase could hide a secret and every passenger could be a suspect, set against the bustling backdrop of Mumbai International Airport.

 

The series, produced by Friday Storytellers, is a fictional yet gripping exploration of airport smuggling. At its center is Superintendent Arjun Meena, played by Emraan Hashmi—a razor-sharp, calm, and calculating officer who leads his team in cracking down on everything from luxury goods hidden in plain sight to organized international syndicates. Hashmi’s character brings a refreshing new avatar of intelligence and lethal instincts, establishing him as the cornerstone of this high-stakes operation.

 

Taskaree: The Smuggler’s Web is created by Neeraj Pandey and directed by Raghav Jairath, marking Pandey’s fourth collaboration with Netflix and his first with Emraan Hashmi. The teaser hints at a tense world of travel, trade, and crime, where customs officers are on the frontlines battling smugglers targeting both passengers and businesses.
