Sunny Deol Gets Emotional at Border 2 Teaser Event on Vijay Diwas, Varun Dhawan Touches His Feet in Respect

The unveiling of the Border 2 teaser turned into an emotionally charged moment as Sunny Deol interacted with the audience during the grand launch event held in Mumbai on Vijay Diwas. Marking his first public appearance following the demise of his father Dharmendra, the veteran actor was visibly overwhelmed, making the evening deeply personal and unforgettable for fans and attendees alike.

 

As Sunny Deol took the stage, he delivered one of the film’s most powerful dialogues, “Awaaz kahan tak jaani chahiye?”—a line instantly echoed by the audience shouting back, “Lahore tak!” While Sunny repeated the dialogue with trademark intensity, emotions took over as he struggled to hold back tears, drawing thunderous applause and emotional support from the crowd.

 

A heartwarming moment followed when Varun Dhawan, who shares screen space with Sunny in the film, touched the senior actor’s feet as a gesture of respect and gratitude. Varun said, “Genuinely sir, thank you so much for giving me this opportunity to work with you,” a moment that quickly went viral and showcased the deep admiration younger actors hold for the Border legend.

 

The teaser launch was timed perfectly with Vijay Diwas, commemorating India’s victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak War, the very backdrop on which Border 2 is based. The event was attended by cast members Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, and Ahan Shetty, adding to the film’s already massive anticipation and patriotic fervor.

 

Helmed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 is presented by Gulshan Kumar & T-Series in association with J.P. Dutta’s JP Films, and produced by Bhushan Kumar, J.P. Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta. The film features a powerful ensemble including Diljit Dosanjh, Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, along with Sonam Bajwa, Mona Singh, Medha Rana, Angad Singh, Guneet Sandhu, and Paramvir Cheema.

 

Slated for a theatrical release on January 23, 2026, ahead of the Republic Day weekend, Border 2 promises to be more than just a war film—it is shaping up to be an emotional tribute to bravery, legacy, and national pride, with Sunny Deol once again standing at its powerful core.
