“The Most Important Thing is to Be a Good Human Being,” Says Saif Ali Khan About His Kids at ISPL Auction

Saif Ali Khan, co-owner of the Tiigers of Kolkata ISPL team, opened up about parenting, cricket, and life lessons during the ISPL Season 3 Player Auction held in Mumbai on December 9, 2025. When asked about his son’s – Taimur Ali Khan and Jehangir Ali Khan, whether he sees him pursuing Bollywood or cricket in the future, Saif gave a heartfelt response that resonated with fans and parents alike. “As parents our job is to support, and as long as they’re happy and hardworking, whatever job they are lucky enough to get, we try and educate them, we try and teach them the value. The most important thing is to be a good human being, but after that, whatever they like to do, there is no pressure from us,” he said, emphasizing that personal happiness and character come before career choices.

 

Saif further reflected on his own experiences with cricket, which remain a cherished part of his upbringing in Mumbai. “I have played all kinds of cricket at home, in corridors and things like this, and also in Mumbai, when I first moved here, we played outside on the roads, and interrupted the traffic a little bit. All the boys living in the area would join in, and it was a strong community thing growing up in Mumbai, so yeah I have played,” he shared. His nostalgic anecdotes painted a picture of a childhood shaped by sports, camaraderie, and community, giving insight into how he hopes to instill similar values in Taimur.

 

At the star-studded ISPL auction, Saif’s presence was as much about cricket as it was about sharing personal wisdom. The actor and franchise co-owner mingled with other celebrity team owners like Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Hrithik Roshan, and Ajay Devgn, all while reflecting on the balance between personal and professional life. 

 

On the professional front, Saif Ali Khan is currently working on a Bollywood horror-thriller alongside Akshay Kumar, directed by Priyadarshan, set for release in 2026. Despite his busy schedule, the actor continues to make time for family, cricket, and his growing ventures in the Indian Street Premier League, demonstrating his ability to juggle diverse responsibilities while staying grounded.
