If adrenaline were a movie genre, Dhurandhar would be its poster child. From the very first frame, it grabs you by the collar, shakes you upside down, and refuses to let go. Aditya Dhar doesn’t just direct; he engineers a full-blown cinematic storm where patriotism, chaos, and heart-stopping espionage collide in an explosive mashup. Think of it as Mission Impossible meets a Bollywood blockbuster—with an extra shot of masala and a dash of “did-that-just-happen?”

The film is anchored in India’s darkest hours, drawing from real-life events like the IC-814 hijacking and the 2001 Parliament attack. These are not mere window dressings; they form the backbone of a story that balances high-stakes action with emotional depth. R. Madhavan’s IB Chief Ajay Sanyal is the calm in this chaos—a character so precise and controlled that he almost feels like the human version of a Swiss watch ticking away before the storm hits.

Enter Ranveer Singh as Hamza, a human firecracker with a chip on his shoulder. Volatile, wounded, and irresistibly magnetic, Hamza’s journey from a furious outsider to a cold, calculating underworld force is mesmerizing. Ranveer blends quiet menace with explosive theatrics, making every scene he’s in feel like the film’s pulse just went into overdrive.

The supporting cast adds layers of menace and flair. Akshaye Khanna’s Rehman Dakait is a silent, terrifying intellect, while Sanjay Dutt’s SP Aslam “The Jinn” commands every frame with raw authority. Arjun Rampal’s icy, restrained Major Iqbal injects a subtle tension, and Sara Arjun’s debut sparkles with innocence and sincerity. Together, they make Dhurandhar’s world feel dangerous, unpredictable, and alive.

One of the film’s quirkiest and coolest choices is its use of real archival footage—gritty visuals and audio from past terror attacks, including 26/11 intercepts. This blend of fact and fiction gives the story a chilling realism while keeping the patriotism grounded and earned, not preachy.

Despite clocking in at 196 minutes, the pacing never falters. Every scene, dialogue, and moment is meticulously calibrated to keep viewers on the edge of their seats. The background score is relentless, like a heartbeat that refuses to slow down, while the soundtrack punctuates action and emotion with cinematic flair. If this movie were coffee, it would be a triple-shot espresso—strong, bold, and impossible to ignore.

Violence is used with purpose, and only a handful of sequences go graphic, always in service of the story. The real tension emerges from betrayals, strategic maneuvering, and psychological chess matches. The first half carefully sets the stage, while the second half erupts with conspiracies, underworld rise, and Hamza’s unstoppable march, teasing an even bigger Part Two in Eid 2026.

Dhurandhar is more than a spy thriller—it’s a full-throttle ride through patriotism, suspense, and high-octane action. Aditya Dhar directs with precision, Ranveer Singh delivers fireworks in human form, and the ensemble cast makes it all feel thrillingly real. As the credits roll and Part Two looms on the horizon, one thing is certain: the storm has only begun, and the next ride promises to be even wilder.
