Tarun Spills Fun Secrets From Netflix’s Dining With The Kapoors

Netflix’s new documentary special Dining With The Kapoors brings four generations of the legendary Kapoor family together at one table—but according to Tarun, this concept is far more than just a meal. When asked about the significance of the dining table for the Kapoors, he explained, “I think, dining table means way of thinking for Kapoors… even when Raj Kapoor Saab would invite everyone for food, then he would ask people to narrate him the story, or sing that song… all during the meal. For him, food was important… and that is a legacy which has gone forward.”

 

The special offers fans a chance to finally peek inside the famously private gatherings. As Tarun put it, “Even we all have seen in the pap videos, that all the cars have arrived and everyone has gone inside, but no one knew what was happening inside… this is the opportunity to know and understand what exactly takes on that dining table.”

 

When asked which of the iconic trio—Ranbir, Kareena, or Karisma Kapoor—is the most fun or serious, Tarun shared new insights into the family dynamics. “All of them are focused and punctual… but the funniest and loudest is Reema Jain. And the most sarcastic is Randhir Kapoor (Daboo Uncle). This brother and sister duo bully each other—that is something you will witness in the show.”

 

Released on November 21, 2025, Dining With The Kapoors is created by Armaan Jain and directed by Smriti Mundhra. The special celebrates the 100th birth anniversary of Raj Kapoor, offering an intimate look at the family’s bond over food, stories, cinema, and nostalgia. From heartfelt moments to playful sibling banter, the documentary promises an inside look at India’s first family of films like never before.
