I Am Still A Man-Child, Just Slightly Modified Says Kunal Kemmu

Kunal Kemmu is gearing up to charm audiences as a single father in Netflix’s upcoming series Single Papa, and he’s bringing plenty of real-life experience to the role. Reflecting on his own journey into fatherhood, Kemmu offered a candid and humorous take on how life changes the moment you hold your child. “I am still a Man-Child, but slightly modified,” he laughed. “The first time you hold your child… you know it’s that kind of relationship where I will jump in front of a bus for this one, even though I have just met this person… you instantly become father.”

Kemmu shared these thoughts during the trailer launch event, where he was joined by co-stars Neha Dhupia, Prajakta Koli, Manoj Pahwa, Ayesha Raza, and the creative team. Single Papa is created and co-produced by Ishita Moitra and Neeraj Udhwani, with Shashank Khaitan serving as executive producer. The directing duties are shared by Khaitan, Hitesh Kewalya, and Udhwani, with the series produced under Juggernaut Productions by Aditya Pittie and Samar Khan.

The trailer presents Kemmu as Gaurav Gahlot, a single dad tackling everything from diaper chaos to well-meaning but overwhelming advice from family and friends. His life is equal parts messy, chaotic, and heartwarming—a relatable portrait of navigating parenthood one unpredictable moment at a time.

Single Papa dives into themes of love, family, and the delightful disorder of raising a child in an Indian household. Through equal measures of comedy and emotion, the series shines a light on the resilience, vulnerability, and humor of a father doing his best—sometimes triumphantly, often hilariously.

With a talented ensemble cast including Manoj Pahwa, Neha Dhupia as the sharp and assertive Romilla Nehra, Prajakta Koli as Gaurav’s supportive sister Namrata, and Ayesha Raza, the show promises a warm, witty, and deeply relatable celebration of modern parenting.
