The official Drishyam 3 handle decided to drop a cinematic bombshell this week: “It’s a wrap!”—complete with a clapboard photo proudly flashing PACKUP like it had solved a mystery of its own. In what can only be described as supernatural efficiency (very Georgekutty-coded), the film wrapped shooting in just 2.5 months, despite fans expecting at least a few extra twists before the director yelled "cut."

 

Mohanlal, returning as the eternally calm, eternally suspicious Georgekutty, got his own stylish farewell post too: “#Georgekutty Signing Off in Style.” Honestly, if Georgekutty left a film set the way he leaves crime scenes, the crew probably had to double-check whether the clapboard had an alibi. Fans, meanwhile, read the Malayalam-script teaser image like it was a clue board—hoping for hints about the plot no one will ever successfully predict.

 

Directed again by Jeethu Joseph, the third installment rides on the massive success of Drishyam and Drishyam 2, which together raked in over ₹500 crore across remakes. Now, with a confirmed March 2026 release, expectations are sky-high, even though the team has made it clear: no simultaneous Hindi version this time. Maybe Georgekutty’s mysteries need quiet Malayalam air to age properly.

 

Given the franchise’s history, the only predictable part of Drishyam 3 is that nothing will be predictable. But for now, fans are simply thrilled to know that Georgekutty has officially wrapped, packed up, and possibly already disappeared into the night with his next airtight plan.
