Nawazuddin Siddiqui Returns to the Darkness in Raa...

Netflix has dropped the first spine-tingling teaser for Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders, and if the visuals are anything to go by, Inspector Jatil Yadav is stepping into a case far murkier than anything he’s faced before. Sharing the clip online, Netflix captioned it perfectly: “Inspector Jatil ka raat ke andhere se purana rishta hai, lekin Bansal Murders ka case aur bhi gehra hai.” And they’re not exaggerating—this time, the darkness seems personal.

The teaser opens with a chilling setup: the entire Bansal family slaughtered overnight. A haunting mansion, an eerie puja ceremony, a lone graveyard, and silence thick enough to cut through—everything screams mystery. Nawazuddin Siddiqui, reprising his role as the sharp, stubborn, and quietly intense Inspector Jatil, dives straight into the chaos. As he pieces the case together, the teaser hints at bizarre clues and unsettling revelations. His voice cuts through the tension as he declares, “The Bansal murder is not a small incident, it’s a murder. I will find the root of this, no matter what.” A promise… or a warning?

Alongside Nawazuddin, the film stars Chitrangada Singh in a crucial role, with Radhika Apte, Rajat Kapoor, Revathi, Deepti Naval, and Sanjay Kapoor rounding out a powerhouse ensemble. With Honey Trehan returning to direct and Smita Singh once again behind the writing, the sequel is bringing back the very team that made the 2020 original both unsettling and acclaimed. Produced by RSVP and MacGuffin Pictures, the film aims to expand the world of dark secrets, flawed people, and crimes that run deeper than surface clues.

Fans of Raat Akeli Hai have long awaited a follow-up, and this teaser finally confirms what they’ve hoped for—a sequel that retains the original’s gritty noir vibe while raising the stakes. As Inspector Jatil goes deeper into the labyrinth of lies, it seems this case won’t just test his skill… it may haunt him in ways he never imagined.

Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders releases December 19, only on Netflix.
