Row K Entertainment has just dropped the official trailer for Dead Man’s Wire, and it promises a gripping trip back to one of the most infamous hostage situations of the 1970s. Helmed by acclaimed director Gus Van Sant, the film tells the true story of Tony Kiritsis, whose desperate act shocked the world and tested the limits of law enforcement, media frenzy, and public morality.

 

The story unfolds on the morning of February 8, 1977, when Anthony G. "Tony" Kiritsis (played by Bill Skarsgård) stormed the office of Richard O. Hall, president of the Meridian Mortgage Company. Armed with a sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun rigged with a “dead man’s wire” from the trigger to Hall’s head, Tony demanded 5 million dollars, immunity from prosecution, and a personal apology from the Halls for cheating him out of what he claimed was rightfully his. The tense stand-off captivated the nation, becoming a media spectacle that raised questions about justice, desperation, and human psychology.

 

The cast brings serious talent to the project, including Bill Skarsgård as Kiritsis, Dacre Montgomery, Cary Elwes, Myha’la, Colman Domingo, and the legendary Al Pacino.
