Paradise Turns Deadly in EuropaCorp's New Thriller Hell in Paradise

EuropaCorp has unveiled the gripping first trailer for Hell in Paradise, an atmospheric thriller directed by Leïla Sy and set in the deceptively serene backdrop of the Maldives. Led by Army of the Dead star Nora Arnezeder, the film promises a tension-filled descent into paradise lost, blending mystery, betrayal, and survival in one of the world’s most idyllic locations — now turned into a prison of suspicion.

Arnezeder plays Nina, a young woman from Marseille seeking a fresh start and a better life. She accepts a job as a receptionist at a luxury resort in the Indian Ocean. But her dream quickly unravels when a tragedy strikes the hotel. Suddenly at the center of a chilling cover-up, Nina is falsely accused and faces the terrifying prospect of life in a foreign prison. With everyone around her hiding something, she must navigate a web of lies, cultural barriers, and deadly secrets to clear her name — and survive.

Joining Arnezeder in the cast are Shubham Saraf (A Suitable Boy), Ranjit Krishnamma, Sartaj Garewal, Louka Meliava, Joséphine de la Baume, and Maria Bello in a mysterious supporting role. The screenplay, penned by Karine Silla, explores themes of colonial tension, privilege, and the precariousness of truth in a world built on appearances. The trailer hints at a sun-soaked noir thriller, where every smile hides a threat and every ally could be a traitor.

With its striking visuals, intense performances, and psychological edge, Hell in Paradise looks set to offer a fresh spin on the exotic thriller genre. Leïla Sy, known for her raw and socially conscious filmmaking, appears to be blending genre tension with deeper commentary on exploitation and justice — making this not just a gripping watch, but a thought-provoking one.

Hell in Paradise is slated for release on November 26, 2025. Expect a suspenseful ride that’ll make you think twice about checking into that five-star resort.
