Picking up where Wicked: Part One left off, For Good finds Elphaba (played by the powerhouse Cynthia Erivo) living in exile in the Ozian forest, branded as the Wicked Witch and feared across the land. Despite the public’s perception, she remains committed to fighting for the rights of Oz’s silenced Animals, and desperately seeks to expose the truth about The Wizard, played by none other than Jeff Goldblum in full mysterious form.
On the other side of the Emerald Curtain, Ariana Grande’s Glinda has transformed into Oz’s glittering poster girl for goodness—polished, powerful, and politically positioned at the palace. But as Madame Morrible (played by Michelle Yeoh) pulls strings behind the scenes, Glinda is deployed as a comforting facade to distract the masses, forcing her to question the cost of fame, power, and a lost friendship.
The cast is stacked with familiar and fresh faces, including Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Marissa Bode, Bowen Yang, Keala Settle, Bronwyn James, and Sharon D. Clarke. The screenplay by Winnie Holzman and Dana Fox continues the rich storytelling of the stage production, based on Gregory Maguire’s darkly enchanting novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West—itself a twist on The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
From heart-wrenching solos to high-flying moments of magic, Wicked: For Good is shaping up to be an emotional, visually stunning climax that will redefine how audiences see the witches of Oz—and each other. Expect tears. Expect goosebumps. Expect a farewell worthy of Broadway royalty.
