Starring the ever-versatile Vijay Raaz as Hari Om, an auto-rickshaw driver who once dreamt of bigger things, the film takes a whimsical yet emotional turn when he encounters Camille Natta, a tourist from Paris. She’s missed her chance to catch the luxurious Palace on Wheels train, and Hari Om, determined and charming in his own offbeat way, promises to help her catch it—in his auto, which he fondly calls Madhuri.
What follows is not just a mad dash across India, but a meditative, heartwarming ride through love, loss, hope, and rediscovery. The film also stars Jean-Marie Lamour, with special appearances by the late A.K. Hangal and Anupam Shyam, adding depth and emotional resonance.
Directed by Bharatbala, known for his iconic visual storytelling (Vande Mataram, Hari Om), the film carries his signature blend of poetic cinematography and grounded emotion. The screenplay, penned by Sanjay Lafont and Bharatbala himself, promises a narrative that transcends cultural boundaries while staying rooted in Indian soil.
Produced by Kumar Taurani and Ramesh Taurani, Soulmates is shaping up to be a poignant addition to the digital film space—equal parts art and heart, arriving just in time for Diwali’s season of light and connection.
