Stars Shine Bright at ‘Homebound’ Screening: Janhvi Kapoor, Karan Johar, Shilpa Shetty And More Turn Heads

It was a night of glamour, cinema, and celebration as Bollywood’s A-listers came together for the special screening of Homebound, the much-anticipated drama directed by Neeraj Ghaywan. The red carpet was on fire with some of the industry’s biggest names gracing the event, each bringing their signature style and undeniable presence.

Homebound, starring Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa, and Janhvi Kapoor, tells the story of two childhood friends from rural North India who set out to become police officers in pursuit of dignity, respect, and a better life. But as they inch closer to their goal, dreams clash with reality, and loyalty is put to the ultimate test. Based on a 2020 New York Times article by journalist Basharat Peer, the film explores friendship, ambition, and the brutal cost of systemic pressure.

 

After receiving a standing ovation at its world premiere in the Un Certain Regard section of the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, Homebound is already buzzing with Oscar potential. It has officially been chosen as India’s submission for the Best International Feature Film at the 98th Academy Awards — a historic moment for director Neeraj Ghaywan and the entire cast and crew.

 

With its theatrical release set for 26 September 2025, Homebound is shaping up to be more than just a film — it's a cultural conversation starter.
