“Actually, carried it on Vicky Kaushal’s shoulders, but you know, it was an example of absolutely terrific teamwork and complete dedication, and a lot of awe and respect for the field marshal and everybody was aware of that responsibility, so that was the biggest thing and that’s what shows,” Meghna said. She further added, “I think Ronnie Screwvala and I were happy that the award we got was actually for a film that promotes values of national integration and culture and environment because that is what Sam Manekshaw stood for, values.”
Expressing the immense pride she felt on winning a National Award, Meghna shared, “Winning the national award there is tremendous pride, we are so grateful because it is a national honor, and nothing makes you more proud when the country recognizes the work you do, so nothing is more gratifying.”
Meghna’s remarks highlight how Sam Bahadur is not just a cinematic achievement but also a tribute to the inspiring legacy of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, promoting unity and cultural pride. The director’s heartfelt acknowledgment of her team and the film’s core values resonates with the spirit of the National Film Awards themselves — honoring work that reflects India’s diverse heritage and collective ideals.
