Hrithik Roshan, Urmila Matondkar, and More Shine at ‘Homebound’ Special Screening

Bollywood’s crème de la crème gathered for the special screening of Homebound, the much-awaited 2025 drama directed by Neeraj Ghaywan. The star-studded event saw Hrithik Roshan, Urmila Matondkar, Rhea Chakraborty, Rohit Saraf, Angad Bedi, Neha Dhupia, Malaika Arora, Sharvari Wagh, and many more celebrities come together to celebrate a film that’s already making waves internationally.

 

Homebound stars Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa, and Janhvi Kapoor in a gripping story based on a 2020 New York Times article by Basharat Peer. It follows two childhood friends from a small village in North India who aspire to become police officers, dreaming of respect and dignity. As they navigate the intense challenges of the national police exam and societal pressures, their friendship is put to the test.

 

The film premiered to critical acclaim at the prestigious Un Certain Regard section of the 2025 Cannes Film Festival on May 21, and has been selected as India’s official submission for the Best International Feature Film category at the 98th Academy Awards — a huge milestone for Indian cinema and director Neeraj Ghaywan.

 

With its powerful narrative, stellar performances, and social relevance, Homebound promises to be more than just a movie — it’s a poignant commentary on ambition, friendship, and the harsh realities of life in contemporary India.
