“It’s a Clean U for Idli Kadai”: Dhanush’s Food-Fuelled Drama Set for Worldwide Release This October

Idli Kadai, the much-awaited drama from Dhanush’s creative cauldron, has officially passed the censor board with a clean ‘U’ certificate, clearing its path to a global theatrical release on 1st October 2025. Dawn Pictures, co-producing the film with Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films, shared the announcement alongside a brand-new poster, building buzz for what’s shaping up to be a soul-stirring yet grounded family saga.

 

Written, directed, and headlined by Dhanush, Idli Kadai isn’t just a film—it’s a flavorful mix of ambition, tradition, and generational friction. Dhanush plays Murugan, a young man who dreams of becoming a hotelier, much to the dismay of his father, who runs a humble yet iconic idli shack. When his dreams are derailed by betrayal, Murugan must return to his roots to protect what really matters—his family’s culinary legacy.

 

The ensemble cast packs punch and emotion, with Nithya Menen, Arun Vijay, Shalini Pandey, Sathyaraj, R. Parthiban, Samuthirakani, and Rajkiran rounding out the world of Idli Kadai. With G. V. Prakash Kumar composing the music, expect a soundtrack that sizzles with both sentiment and spice.
