Gauahar Khan Slams Amaal Mallik Over "Bail Buddhi Ki Aulaad" Remark on Bigg Boss 19: "Really Low"

Actress and former Bigg Boss 7 winner Gauahar Khan has taken a firm stand against Amaal Mallik’s recent choice of words on Bigg Boss 19, igniting a fresh wave of debate around language and legacy on reality TV. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Gauahar tweeted: “Amaal should pay attention to the legacy he comes from that he claims so, kisi ke baap ko peeth peeche gaali dena bhi, gaali dena hota hai. Bail buddhi ki aulaad?????? Really low. Ya phir ye bhi hawa mein gaali bolke dil ko dilaasa diya. I hope he gets pulled up for this language on WKW! #bb19”

The phrase in question — “bail buddhi ki aulaad” — which loosely translates to “offspring of an ox-brained person,” was reportedly used by Amaal Mallik during a heated moment inside the Bigg Boss house. While many online dismissed it as a colloquial jibe, Gauahar viewed it as crossing a line, especially considering Amaal’s musical lineage — he is the son of composer Daboo Malik and the nephew of veteran music director Anu Malik.

Khan’s comments not only highlight the potential disrespect toward one’s family legacy, but also tap into the ongoing scrutiny around verbal conduct on reality TV. Bigg Boss has long walked the tightrope between entertainment and escalation, with contestants often blurring the line between banter and abuse. Gauahar, having herself faced and navigated similar storms during her victorious 2013 Bigg Boss stint, seems to be speaking from experience — and with a certain moral authority.

Meanwhile, Amaal’s fans have rallied in his defense, insisting the phrase was used in jest or as part of a common Hindi idiom, not a direct insult. Some argue that Gauahar is overreacting, while others see her post as an important reminder of the show’s broader cultural influence and the need for accountability — especially when contestants come from influential backgrounds.

With Weekend Ka Vaar around the corner, all eyes are on whether Salman Khan or Farah Khan (who recently filled in as host) will address the matter. One thing’s for sure — in the Bigg Boss house, words may fly freely, but outside, they land with real consequences.
