Ahan Shetty to Headline Horror Film Inspired by Real-Life National Tragedy

Emerging as one of the promising faces of the new generation in Bollywood, Ahan Shetty is set to take a bold leap into uncharted territory. The actor, best known for his action-packed debut in Tadap, will headline an untitled horror film inspired by a real-life national tragedy — a rare blend of genre storytelling and emotionally charged history.

This yet-to-be-titled project is written by Patrick Graham, the creative force behind India’s horror hits like Ghoul and Betaal, both under the Blumhouse umbrella. Known for his masterful command over psychological and supernatural horror, Graham’s involvement signals a gripping narrative that won’t rely solely on jump scares, but instead tap into deeper, more disturbing realities.

The film is being produced by Khyati Madaan of Not Out Entertainment and Prashant Gunjalkar, with production slated to begin in early 2026. The project stands apart not just for its genre, but for its rootedness in a national tragedy — one that reportedly shook the country, making this an emotionally intense venture that challenges both actor and audience.

This horror film also marks a significant expansion in Not Out Entertainment’s storytelling vision. The production house is simultaneously working on Abhootpurva, a romantic-horror comedy, and a new film helmed by acclaimed director Habib Faisal, ensuring a diverse yet compelling slate ahead.

With Ahan Shetty stepping into a darker, more complex role, and a narrative inspired by real-life trauma, this upcoming horror venture promises to be one of the most talked-about and genre-defining projects in recent years. If done right, it could very well be a turning point in the landscape of Indian horror cinema.
